Some History -- Eurocopter was formed in the early 1990s by the merger of the helicopter divisions of Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm (MBB) from Germany and Aerospatiale from France. This group is now a subsidiary owned 100% by EADS (European Aeronautic, Defense and Space Company). Eurocopter has become the leading aeronautical group in Europe. It has been reported that in 2006 there are more than 9500 Eurocopter helicopters in service in 139 countries and a customer base of 2500. Eurocopter offers a broad range of helicopters.
