When trouble hits we are just a phone call away and will have pertinent information to hand. This service - driven customised technical assistance for our clients speeds up turn-around time.
Whether you register or not, call us with the problem and we will route you to our nearest technical support operation who will provide assistance via the Mobile Repair Personnel (Aeronautics) team.
Borescope engine inspections are non-destructive. The image presented on the viewing device is a true representation of the condition found at that point within the engine. A Borescope can look deep inside your engine and reveal defects.
Whatever your requirement - to assist with dispute resolution or from a technical perspective - if you feel that your engine performance is not what it should be - e.g. fuel consumption seems higher than normal; using more road to get to V1 etc - these are all signs that your engine power may be degraded.
Leased engines should always be subjected to a Borescope inspection to determine their condition prior to delivery and redelivery to or from the Lessor.
Teamed with leading engineers in this field, EAL can provide a bespoke service that will meet with your requirements.
The engine performance alone will not reveal internal damage. Returning or accepting a leased engine requires a Borescope to determine its condition. Is the engine serviceable? To be certain, we have to look. Most of us recognise the term FOD, (foreign object damage) be it inlet damage, bird, ice, stones or whatever. Here's another acronym. DOD, (domestic object damage) blade to vane contact, blade rub, a number of possible defects internally, burning and cracking in the hot section. Isn't it better to know now?
EAL prefers the use of the Welch Allyn XL VideoProbe and additional Sony equipment to comply with your inspection. We provide a formatted profile that states the condition of each accessible stage and the combustion chamber, along with the video. Our inspections are very thorough.
The maintenance manual limits are the deciding factor in determining the engine serviceability. Knowing how to read these limits is another area of expertise that we provide.
The EAL team has 30 years experience for providing technicians, inspectors and instructors. A Licensed A&P Engineer will be deployed who will hold Borescope & 'Blade Blend' Certificates from the Engine Manufacturers.
EAL team members are currently performing & teaching inspections for Pratt & Whitney.
EAL asks that our Client provides us with a single point of contact and we will keep that individual informed with any significant findings along the way, including a preliminary report immediately upon completion, and any necessary images. The Sony Video and final report will be express mailed within three days of completion.
